AboutI'm an author who began painting after having the urge to do so for several years. As a start, I created a short series of paintings, Child Eyes. Rather than actual child eyes, these eyes refer to the child within us who never seems to go away completely, perhaps in some more than others. The style is childlike, which I felt was appropriate for this theme. My focus on eyes evolved to a more mature eye style that continues to be contemporary, expressive, and similar in theme. The first of this series, Human Nature, is Pearl Necklace. In my work, black and white represents close-mindedness, or "black and white" thinking, which can also be viewed as a type of prison. When present, the eyes represent either an individual or humanity in general. It should not be assumed that the body parts in my work are those belonging to the eyes depicted. If there can be a sexual connotation to a title, such as Piece of Meat, it's safe to assume that's the intent. My
goal is to create art that expresses emotion or tells a story through symbols, colors,
lines, and ideas. It's abstract and perhaps a bit unusual;
that's the type of work I'm drawn to. No doubt my style is unique.
